Warm Apple Crisp

  • 1 c. Apple Oat Crunch, crushed
  • 5 lbs. McIntosh apples
  • grated zest of 1 orange
  • grated zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 Tbls. freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 Tbls. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. whole grain flour
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 lb unsalted butter, cold and diced

Preheat oven to 350 F.  Grease a 9 x 14 x 2″ oval baking dish.

Peel, core, and cut apples into large wedges.  Combine apples with zests, juices, 1/2 c. sugar, and spices.  Pour into the dish.

For the topping combine the crushed Apple Oat Crunch, flour, 1/2 c. sugar, brown sugar, salt, and butter until it forms a crumbly mixture.  Spread over the apples.

Bake for 1 hour until the top is brown and the apples are bubbly.  Serve warm and enjoy!
